ContourMed Q & A
Question: Can I swim in my ContourMed prosthesis?
Answer: Yes, ContourMed Prostheses are waterproof and sealed to prevent absorption of water.
Question: How long does it take to get a custom prosthesis manufactured?
Answer: ContourMed commits to producing the final prosthesis quickly. Ideally, the entire process should take two weeks.
Question: Will my custom prosthesis look like my remaining breast?
Answer: ContourMed custom prostheses are custom created to resemble your breast in your bra. Scans of your chest wall and your intact breast both in and out of the bra allow the ContourMed custom prosthesis to contour to your chest wall.
Question: Why can’t I just wear my Transitions form as my breast prosthesis?
Answer: ContourMed’s Transitions is made of foam which is soft and perfect for the healing process. However, the form is not designed to be a breast prosthesis.
Question: Will my custom breast prosthesis move around like an off-the-shelf form?
Answer: Unlike traditional off-the-shelf forms, our custom prostheses fit snugly to your chest wall, eliminating the need for a pocket bra. While they are individually customized to fit your chest wall, there will be some natural movement.
